Your music stays between you and your server

1. Overview

Sound Room ("the App") is a music player for iOS developed by Alpesh Valaki. The App streams music from a Subsonic compatible server that you own or use. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and what we do not collect.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or account credentials
• Your music library, listening history, or playback activity
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Analytics or crash telemetry sent to our servers

Server credentials you enter (hostname, username, password) are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are not transmitted to us.

3. Your music server

The App communicates directly between your device and the Subsonic server address you provide. We have no visibility into, access to, or control over that server or the data it holds. Review the privacy policy of your server software and hosting provider separately.

4. Jam sessions (listen together)

The optional Jam feature lets you listen in sync with friends, family, or teammates. When you use Jam:

• A temporary room identifier is created for the session
• Playback state (play, pause, seek position, track identity) is relayed through our coordination service so participants stay in sync
• No audio content is transmitted through our servers. Music streams directly from each participant's own Subsonic server
• Session coordination data is transient and is not kept after the session ends

Jam does not receive your library, passwords, or audio files.

5. Downloads and offline playback

Tracks you download or cache for offline listening are stored on your device. We do not receive copies of those files. Storage limits and cleanup are controlled in the App on your device.

6. Purchases and tips

Optional in app purchases and tips are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card or billing details. Apple's privacy policy applies to those transactions: apple.com/legal/privacy.

7. Third party services

The App does not integrate third party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

The App uses Apple frameworks (such as StoreKit and AVFoundation) that are subject to Apple's own privacy practices.

8. Children's privacy

Sound Room is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
